Where Orbital Service UK Ltd came from.
With over 25 years of engineering/welding experience and a degree in Business & Finance behind him, Managing Director, Andy Brace started in the orbital welding industry running Orbimatic UK Ltd on behalf of Orbimatic GmbH owners Hubert Dotzauer & Roland Fruth for several years in the early 2000's. He continued as Orbitalum Welding UK Manager & Welding Engineer when Orbimatic GmbH/UK merged with Orbitalum GmbH, who were part of the world's largest welding supply group, ITW.
During this time, he established Orbimatic/Orbitalum orbital welding equipment as the leading orbital welding brand in the UK. Establishing customers from the tip of Scotland to the bottom of England, Northern Ireland and Ireland, from one-man bands to the largest Blue-Chip companies in the world. He was pivotal in ensuring Orbitalum orbital welding equipment became synonymous in every tube & pipe industry sectors.
In 2012, with Orbitalum's blessing & support, he formed Orbital Welding Equipment Ltd and continued to support his customers all over the UK & Ireland. As his business grew year on year, he unfortunately fell seriously ill in January 2016 with a life-threatening condition that halted his ability to work consistently for over 2 years. He could not support his customers in the high standards they'd come to expect and when just starting to recover COVID-19 hit the UK and the industry stopped for nearly 2 years. Orbital Welding Equipment Ltd was forced to close its doors in 2021.
Not wanting to quit and with his well-known drive and determination, he formed Orbital Service UK Ltd to carry on servicing his existing customer base. Qualifying as a coded orbital welder in orbital welding, adding small batch sub-contract welding and specialised tooling to enhance the companies' scope of supply.
OSUK Ltd's main focus is now on growing the business based on personal, individual customer application requirements and creating partnerships, not just Sales.
