Orbital Bespoke Tooling

For the jobs when you want to make the orbital welding of parts easier, quicker and/or eliminate operator welding errors: a dedicated design-and-manufacture service for one-off and non-standard tooling, from first sketch through to a proved-out weld. When standard off the shelf weld head clamps just aren't good enough and allow for too much variance in your orbital welding process, we design and manufacture it ourselves — sized and toleranced for your application.

Project Examples

Recent customer bespoke tooling samples.

All of these tooling examples were designed from scratch by our in-house orbital welding engineering team, then manufactured at our approved local engineering facilities. Upon delivery to our customer, we set up the tooling within their production process and weld tested to ensure compliance with their agreed requirements.

Hot water cylinder to outlet stub welding tooling

Hot Water Cylinder to Outlet Stub

Welding stub out tubes directly to a pulled hole on the cylinder body, eliminating manual TIG welding process and increasing productivity. Hot water cylinder manufacturer application.

Titanium half spheres to small tube welding tooling

Titanium Half Spheres to Small Tube

Two half spheres, 20mm OD, 0.6mm wall welded together, then tube, 3mm OD, 0.6mm wall welded to top of sphere. Chemical testing application.

Flexi-tubing to connector end tube welding tooling

Flexi-tubing to Connector End Tube

Connector end tubes being welded directly to flex-tube heating coils. Saving time, material costs and increasing quality productivity. Heater coil application.

Internal weld of inaccessible manual welding joint tooling

Internal weld of inaccessible manual welding joint.

Extending the tungsten welding arc outside of a closed weld head to weld a fitting to a heat shield. Aerospace application.

The Service

When it needs designing from scratch.

Unusual joint geometry, restricted access, an obsolete part with no replacement — if it doesn't exist off the shelf, this is where we design and build it.
